The content published on this website is intended for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied upon as such. Every legal matter is different, and the information here may not apply to your specific circumstances.
A formal solicitor-client relationship is only established once Claimond has accepted your instruction in writing and issued a letter of engagement. Until that point, no professional duty of care arises from your use of this website or any preliminary communication with us.
Section 5
Engaging Our Services
When you engage Claimond for legal services, the terms of that engagement — including scope of work, fees, and timelines — will be set out in a written letter of engagement. These website Terms apply alongside the engagement letter. Where there is any inconsistency, the terms of the engagement letter will take precedence.
Services available through Claimond include:
- Family Law Consultation — from RM 800 per consultation.
- Immigration and Work Permit Services — from RM 2,000 per engagement.
- Corporate Governance Advisory — from RM 3,200 per engagement.
Pricing shown on this website is indicative and may vary depending on the complexity of the matter. A firm fee will be agreed with you before work commences.
Section 6
Fees and Payment
Our fees are governed by the Solicitors' Remuneration Order 2005 and any applicable schedules of fees under Malaysian law, or as otherwise agreed in the engagement letter. Payment terms will be specified in the engagement letter. In general:
- A deposit may be required before work commences.
- Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed.
- Disbursements (court fees, filing fees, stamp duties, and other out-of-pocket expenses) are billed in addition to professional fees.
- Overdue amounts may attract interest at the rate of 8% per annum or the rate prescribed under Malaysian law, whichever is applicable.
Section 7
Confidentiality
Information you share with us in the course of a legal engagement is subject to legal professional privilege and our duty of confidentiality. We will not disclose it to third parties except:
- With your consent.
- As required by law, court order, or regulatory authority.
- To the extent necessary to provide the services you have engaged us for.
- To comply with our anti-money laundering obligations under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.
This obligation continues after the end of our engagement.
Section 8
Termination of Engagement
Either party may bring an engagement to a close by giving reasonable written notice. In the event of termination:
- Fees for work completed up to the point of termination remain payable.
- We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption to your matter during any handover.
- We may retain copies of your file for the period required by law and professional standards.
We may also withdraw from an engagement where, in our professional judgment, continuing would breach applicable law or rules of professional conduct. We will give you notice of this as soon as practicable.
Section 9
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- Claimond's liability in connection with the website or services shall not exceed the fees paid by you for the specific matter to which a claim relates.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit or loss of opportunity, arising from the use of this website or from legal services rendered.
- We are not responsible for the content or practices of any third-party websites linked from this site.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded or restricted under applicable Malaysian law, including liability arising from professional negligence.

You may not reproduce, adapt, or distribute any part of this website without our prior written consent. Nothing on this site grants you a licence to use any of Claimond's trademarks or other intellectual property.
Section 11
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Malaysian courts, unless the parties agree to an alternative dispute resolution mechanism.
